2-Day Hands-On Training Seminar: XAML Basics for .NET MAUI and WPF

eXtensible Markup Language (XAML) allows you to use a single language to create your UI, regardless of whether you want to build mobile applications for iOS and Android using .NET MAUI, Windows apps for Windows 10 and 11, or desktop application using WPF. While there are a few different flavors of XAML the basics for designing UIs are the same. In this seminar you explore using .NET MAUI and WPF to see how to design screens for business applications. As you move through this course you see how XAML differs, and is the same, between all two XAML platforms. While we won't cover all the specifics for each flavor of XAML, by the end of this course, you will have the knowledge needed to use XAML in your platform of choice. You are also going to learn how to create an N-Tier architecture so you can reuse models, view models, and data repositories between each platform.

By the end of this course, you will be able to.

  • Design business application screens using XAML
  • Understand styles and the different controls to use for designing screens
  • Be able to bind data to your controls
  • Understand the basic differences between XAML in .NET MAUI and WPF
  • Learn different navigation techniques between screens

Attendee Workstation Requirements:
You must provide your own computer (Windows or Mac) for this hands-on lab workshop with a camera, wired Internet connection, speakers, and a microphone. Your computer must have the following technologies installed prior to joining the session:

  • Visual Studio 2022 or later
  • or Visual Studio Code V1.7 or later
  • .NET 7 or later
