2-Day Hands-On Training Seminar: Develop an ASP.NET Core 6 Service and Website with EF Core

Interested in ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core, but not sure where to start? Start here with a two-day hands-on lab where you will build a complete solution using the latest development technology from Microsoft. To begin, you will build a data access library using Entity Framework Core, complete with repos and migrations. Next, you will build an ASP.NET Core Restful service, and finally you will build an ASP.NET Core web application, leveraging all of the latest that ASP.NET Core has to offer, including Tag Helpers, View Components, Dependency Injection, and more!

You will learn:

  • How to create a data access layer with Entity Framework Core
  • About initializing data for testing with EF Core
  • About testing the Data Access Layer
  • How to build a Restful Service with ASP.NET Core
  • How to build a website with ASP.NET Core
  • About configuring the HTTP pipeline and routing
  • How to use and creating Tag Helpers
  • How to use View Components
  • About leveraging Dependency Injection

Attendee Workstation Requirements:
You must provide your own computer (Windows or Mac) for this hands-on lab workshop with a camera, wired Internet connection, speakers, and a microphone.

All other laptop requirements will be provided to attendees 2 weeks prior to the seminar.

Philip Japikse

An international speaker, Microsoft MVP, MCSD, PSM II, PSD, and PST, and a passionate member of the developer community, Phil Japikse has been working with .NET since the first betas, developing software for over 35 years, and heavily involved in the agile community since 2005 as well as a Professional Scrum Trainer. Phil is co-author of best-selling books "Pro C# 7" and "Pro C# 8", the Lead Director for the Cincinnati .NET User’s Group and the Cincinnati Software Architect Group, co-hosted the Hallway Conversations podcast, founded the CincyDeliver conference, and volunteers for the National Ski Patrol.
