Microsoft continues to deliver updates to its dev tools at a rapid pace. Quarterly updates to Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server (TFS) on-premises and Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS) in the cloud continue to deliver value on a regular basis. Microsoft released Visual Studio 2017 RC and Team Foundation Server 2017 RTM in November 2016 and the Visual Studio Redmond timeframe will be filled with the released version of Visual Studio 2017, updates to Visual Studio Code, cross-platform .NET Core, and the first quarterly update to TFS. The 2017 wave has tons of new features, not to mention Microsoft's continued investment into open source and cross-platform development.
