PowerBI is now one of the leaders on self-service BI reporting. It helps analysts get insightful information from data. Power BI took all the 'Power' functionality from Excel and placed it in a single application. PowerQuery is integrated in power Bi with more data source connections. There is a visual list of changes made to the data while the analyst arranges the structure to fit a chart. Reversing a previous step or copying the existing step is a breeze. PowerPivot is used as a tabular model in Power Bi to structure calculated columns and measures. Key Performance Indicators or PKIs enable visuals to show managers what direction the company or client is going. The ability to relate tables and use bi-directional filtering allow measures on both sides of relationship. PowerView is HTML5 and not SilverLight in Power BI. Free custom visuals are being developed by the community and are easy to import. You can also use R for Advanced Analytics.
